The 1922-24´ Standard, Special and De Luxe OPEN CARS had rubber matting embossed with two lines around the edges and around the starter and shift housing. The CLOSED CARS had carpeting in all models. The 1923 & 24´ had a medium square loop dark blue and gray English wool carpeting. Behind the front seat, along the base, a 6” kick strip was covered with the same carpet. Other years are still being researched.

Question
#6
I received an email asking where to buy a new timing chain and or gear because their´s were noisy?

  - Doug Thamert, jewettsix@yahoo.com or 520-444-7134

Answer
#6

Egge Machine, listed in ‘Suppliers & Vendors´, had the timing chain in stock and there are other Vendors on our list that can provide the gear. TIP - mine was noisy and I took the oil line off that runs from the timing gear/chain cover to the oil pump and found a small fitting on the cover end that was plugged. Obviously the chain and gear were not getting lubricated. I cleaned the line and fitting and attached it to the oil pump, squirted some Marvel Mystery Oil into the cover, then attached the cover fitting and line and that quieted down the noise, so I don´t think I need to replace anything. This has to be a common problem and solution for any year with an oil line to the chain from the oil pump.
